Install the High Definition driver and then test the system it should now be working. You should see a "High Definition Audio Driver" listed mine was listed but the driver installed was the standard IDT driver. Select the Driver Tab, Then go to the "Update Driver" button and select "Browse my computer" On the next screen for the driver click the "Change Settings" button On the next screen for the device click the Properties button Select the HDMI device and right click "Properties" (My HDMI device was listed as "not connected") Unlike HDMI, VGA does not carry sound at all, so you have 3 or 4 options: -1) run a stereo mini plug (aka 3.5mm headphone plug) cable/adapter from the MacBook Pro (MBP) headphone port to whatever audio input/s your TV has (stereo mini plug or left & right RCA plugs), or -2) if the TV supports optical digital audio input, run a 3.5mm mini TOSlink adapter and TOSlink cable from the MBP's. So, be sure the HDMI cable is connected and that the HDMI input on the TV is showing the correct type of input ("PC" on my Philips) and of course that your PC is on -) Move the cursor to left side on MacBook Pro screen to move it onto your TV screen.
